Who are we?

At 7th Purley Scout Group, we provide a wide range of activities for young people aged 6 to 18. We have:

What do we do?

Our programme is fun and exciting. It aims to actively engage and support our young people to try new things and master others. By following the Scout Association’s policies, rules, code of behaviour, safety policy and advice on child protection, our adults make sure the young people in their care stay safe while they learn and enjoy themselves.

We are a member of the All Saints’ community and we are sponsored by All Saints Church. The church provides us with premises for our HQ and offers us support. Our Scout Group has a positive policy of integration and welcomes all young people.

How much does it cost?

We ask parents / carers to pay a subscription fee. This can be paid annually or in instalments and works out at less than £2.50 per week.

A large proportion of this goes towards the administration provided by the Scout Association, insurance cover and contributions towards the expenses of the Group’s headquarters. There is a charge for other activities such as camps, but we make sure these are good value for money.

We raise the rest of our funds via fundraising which helps us:

  • buy equipment for camping and expeditions

  • run our Group minibus

  • run special events, activities and outings

  • provide training for our leaders

  • supplement the cost of day to day activities, both indoor and out

How can you help?

As a parent/carer, you are part of the 7th Purley community and we hope you will support your child’s journey through our Group by:

  • attending our AGM and awards evening. You automatically become a member of our Group Council and once a year we hold an annual meeting, which is a celebration of our young people’s achievements throughout the year.

  • help the group fund raise, like helping out at our jumble sale.

  • attend social activities, like our annual family camp, in which our young people and their families all camp together for a weekend and can take part in a range fun activities.

  • supporting activities. You can volunteer to help out at a meeting. Find out more about our volunteering opportunities.
